Sue Michlovitz explores the character of water in Breathe in Water. Water which can be liquid or solid and give or take away life. Her main character is shown with its reflections, textures and layers of light and color, but moving throughout the book is a woman, floating, sinking — there to tell a story, to show these landscape are always in reference to a human narrative.
