The typeface Ida was designed for the book Privileged Mediocrity and used in a section of the book titled A Southern Horror that photographically catalogues confederate statues and monuments in the south.
Ida is modeled after the cover typography of the 1892 pamphlet Southern Horrors: Lynch Law in All Its Phases which was written by the civil rights activist and journalist Ida B. Wells and included a letter by Frederick Douglass.
